👤I wish I could give this seat a 3.5 star rating, but that option doesn't exist, so I went up to a four instead of a three. This car seat has been with us since February of 2016 It's been about 8 months since I wrote this, and it's been one year. When we purchased this car seat for my son, he was just one year old. He is an average sized child. We were in a passenger side impact car accident on the freeway last week and need to replace this car seat because my son was in it when it was side swiped. As I was thinking about what I would like in the next car seat, I thought about some things I don't like about this car seat, as well as some things I like. I thought it would be helpful for people to see my list of pros and cons after using the Condender 65 for over a year and a half. I kept my son safe in the car accident. The five point harness system was still installed tightly and there were no visible signs of damage. It's really affordable. It was cheap, but not cheap quality-wise. I didn't want to spend $300 on a Britax car seat if I could get away with it. I never considered the cup holder when buying a car seat because my son was barely a year old, but it has been great for holding toys, drinks, and snacks. It's easy to clean. The Britax and Chicco convertible models don't have cup holders built in which is a big problem for me. The ones that clip on seem flimsy and I've read a lot of mixed reviews that make those kinds of cupholders seem more an "afterthought" and don't really feel like a part of the seat. My son knows that he would pull them off and throw them on the floor. I read a review where a mom said her child did this for $30 to sit on the floor of their car. It's fairly light without feeling flimsy. It is 15.2 lbs, which sounds right to me. My niece has a Britax Pioneer car seat that is 26 lbs. The "Simply Safe Adjust" harness system at the top of the car seat is very convenient. It's nice to be able to press a button and pull it as your child grows, instead of having to re-thread the straps. It's easy to rethread the buckle. There is no "recline" button, but this could be a pro or con. If you are using the seat for forward or rear facing, you just flip the little wedge at the base of the seat. I never had an issue with it. We used it for both forward and rear facing. The little ball that indicates proper positioning was in the perfect place each time, without any adjustments or boosting in my Honda Pilot. Black straps! They hide the stains and clean them easily. All of the cons are personal preference and convenience issues. I have no doubt that this car seat is safe. It is difficult to move this seat from one car to another. The cheaper 'hook' style of straps are the ones that are used in cars, not the nicer ones that have a button like a seatbelt. They're a problem to get out of. It's a pain and a half to get in and out of my parents' BMW 5 series and my husband's Honda Civic, so I've transferred this from my Honda Pilot to my husband's Honda Civic. I end up sweaty and swearing. It is not helpful that the strap you use to adjust the seat is only on one side, so you have to climb into your vehicle or mess with it. We had to change it twice. When it came out of the box, my son was in the back of the car, and the adjuster was on the left side of the seat. It's more convenient to have the strap on the side of the door. You have to thread the belt through the seat because you can't just pull it out. When my son switched to forward facing, we had to adjust it again. These are the little things that you don't want to waste time on as a parent. If you could adjust the slack/tightness from both sides, it would be much more convenient. The little bar clip with a button that allows you to adjust the latch belt on the one side is very frustrating to use. It does nothing when you press it half the time. It is supposed to let go of its grip on the belt so you can get slack in the belt to remove the latch from the car or tighten it. My friend's car seat has an issue with the latch button. I am not a bad person, but I have lost patience trying and sometimes I have to ask my husband to mess with it. Stains. I have always been too lazy to take the entire cover off and wash it, even though I was positive I could remove the seat after the accident, because I didn't think I could do it. I have never been able to get the stains out of the seat insert with bleach. I wish they were easier to clean because it looks filthy, unfortunately, with a toddler it's unavoidable. I couldn't get the stains out of this seat, so I gave up. We had a seat in Glacier. The gray is shown in a photo. If you remove the lighter gray seat pad, the stains won't show. The little pad has always been left in for comfort. My friend with the same car seat has said that they washed the seat after their daughter had an accident and it took quite some time to dry. She didn't think the fabric would hold up to multiple machine washings. The five point harness that goes over the child is very difficult to use. I had a lot of issues with them not adjusting equally, which is unsafe. The straps seem prone to twisting and making the buckle backwards. The pull strap at the base of the seat can be difficult to pull tight enough. I felt like I would be pulling and yanking and it wouldn't be tight enough, so it drove me crazy. There is no recline handle to adjust the seat's incline. This could be considered a pro or con depending on how you look at it. The most important thing about the Contender 65 is that it kept my son safe in an accident, even though I didn't care for it much. We decided on the 4Ever car seat from Graco because I have faith in them. It fixes most of the "cons" on this list and has all of the features I loved about the Contender 65. I paid $238 for it on Amazon, but the price has fluctuated, and I've seen it as low as $199 on Amazon.
From 4 to 10 years old, this booster car seat helps safely transport your big kid from 40 to 100 pounds. Leading consumer magazines and publications rate the backless booster highly. 👤The boys were in booster seats when we were in the accident. I'm sure the fact we were in a solid vehicle helped the seats withstood impact, no cracks and the boys had no major injuries.
👤I was initially turned off by the fact that they don't have compatible straps to hold them in the seats. I was wrong to think they would be annoying. It's nice to be able to take them in/out easily when I want to let adults ride in those spots. My kids told me that these are more comfortable than the ones in my mom's car. The pop in/out cupholders on both sides are great, I can pop out the "inboard" side and the kids don't have to climb over them to get out.
👤I like this booster car seat, but I am not happy with the covering that is being used. I used the same booster car seat for my grandson 10 years ago. The seat cover material is starting to wear thin and will probably need to be replaced in a month or two. Very disappointed.
👤Arm rests not included in shipment, seat covering that was torn in several areas, and appeared used. Returning quickly! It was disappointing to say the least.
👤The seat is on the money. My little guy is ready for a booster and he told his family that he no longer needed the regular car seat. We needed a seat for the other car so we bought this seat for the second time. He now uses the booster and we added a seat belt adjustment for him. He feels like he's in a big guy seat. The booster seat is great. The Pack of 2 Child Seat Belt Adjuster, Car Safety Cover Adjuster Pad Harness, and Comfortable Protection for Adult Children are part of the HSELL®.
👤These are my favorite booster seats. I have found them to be worth it, even though they are a little more expensive than other brands. The brands flip when the kids get in and out. The style stays in place when the kids get out of the car. Cup holders are more than just for cups, they are also convenient. The kids drink in one side and eat in the other. The covers are easy to remove and clean. I bought these for my grandma's car since I like the ones we have. The car seats and grandma love them.
👤The booster seat is easy to use. We went from using a full car seat to a booster seat. Our niece doesn't ride with us often. It's nice to be able to move her seat between my car and my husband's. Before it was a full workout, it was just to move the car seat. I was exhausted by the time I moved the seat from my SUV to the two door car and it was no big deal for a mom who was used to doing it all the time. The booster is a game-changer. It is perfect for our niece who is six years old. It was worth the price. I'm glad I got this. If you're looking for a booster seat to transition from a large car seat, this is the one for you. It was difficult to move between vehicles because we had one of those car seats that was supposed to last and act as a booster. Have not used on a long road trip.
It is designed to help protect your baby from 40 lbs. The toddler is from 22 to 65 lbs. Simply Safe Harness System adjusts the height of your harness and head rest in one motion to make sure that your child is always secured. The Size4Me car seat has been side impact tested for occupant retention only with the built in 5 point harness system. The toddler car seat can be removed without removing the Rapid Remove cover. 👤We already own a Graco 4ever and purchased a second one. We are completely satisfied with this one and it is very similar to the other one. The 4ever has a few additional features, but I don't think they are better than the MySize. The MySize style would be more comfortable with these straps. I removed the comfortable head rest cushions on the sides because they seemed to push her head forward. I think the MySize might be a bit easier, though we haven't done it yet, because they both have strap slots on the sides to hold the straps. The people say the Buckle is not long enough. It is easy to adjust the seat in your vehicle if you rethreading the buckle on the bottom side. I believe people are only adjusting the position through the fabric slots, not the plastic of the seat. If you do it correctly, the entire buckle will remain the same length if you do it correctly. It is long if done correctly. I tried this seat in the store and thought it was hard to adjust the strap length when she was sitting in it, but the new one seems to be fine. I don't know what causes that. If it becomes an issue, I'll try to update. I thought the 4ever would feel better in the safety as well. This one is just as safe. The seat does not move around in the vehicle. I've heard people say that the top of their carseat can wiggle because the base is narrow, but this is not the case. The base is wide and the seat is low. If we were buying again, we would go with the MySize because the extra money doesn't seem to give you any valuable features and I think this one will be more comfortable for her. The shoulder strap covers under the chest buckle seem to fit better and can reach the cup holder.
👤This is a good size for a small car. This fits both front and rear of my car. It does not require that the front seats be pushed up too far or too close to the dash.
👤I have a carseat for my 1 and 2 year olds, which still uses it rear facing. The only complaint I had was that the buckle pinched their legs when I fastened their belts. Someone said there is a way to adjust the seat belt under the seat. The problem of leg pinching is solved by taking the seat out and adjusting it there. I tried it and both my boys are fine. I hope other parents will see this and it will help them. I thought you had to completely remove the car seat to adjust it. I was able to move it without removing the seat.
👤When our twins were 15 months old, we got these. We needed something that would fit in our small car. It works well in a small car with no sacrificing of leg room, which is important to me since I am tall. It was long lasting. We have used this for over 4 years because our twins are almost 6. We will probably change to boosters because they are easier for school to drop off. The fabric can be washed when needed. Pulling up on the handle can easily adjust the straps heights. There are small pockets on both sides of the seat that can be used to store the buckle. Being able to put one in the seat and easily put them up without having to use the straps is a lifesaver for me. The seat is comfortable and the fabric is soft, even after a lot of cleanings. Installation is easy. Can't think of anything else that would be better than an additional cup holder. My kids have used these items the longest. You can find good seats with bells and whistles, but why bother? These have been worth it. We were very pleased with our purchase.
Your child's car seat can grow from a rear-facing harness to a forward-facing harness. Your child can safely ride rear-facing longer with the Extend2fit 4-position panel. Your child can ride rear-facing for up to 50 pounds. The Protect Plus is engineered by Graco. The plush head and body inserts help keep your baby comfortable. Simply Safe has a no-rethread harness and a no-rethread headrest. Simply Safe has a no-rethread harness and a no-rethread headrest.
👤This is our 8th car seat and 5th child. We have had several before this one. It's my favorite of all the car seats we've ever had, so I had to review it. It's seriously. The Diono is heavy and difficult to adjust to, the Britax is cumbersome, and the Evenflos are cheap and thin. None of them have covers that are easy to wash. The covers are easy to put back together. The metal parts you want to be safe and sturdy are latches, tether, etc. The adjusting pieces are large and easy to grasp. Oh! That is the other thing. I couldn't get my hand into any of the others in the way I needed to, not for adjusting, not for installing, and not for moving stuff around. I can get my paw through the appropriate areas. The harness adjustment feature is enough to give repeat business. I didn't say anything dirty while installing. Heeheehee
👤I couldn't ask for a better car seat when I bought it at Target. My daughter is 16 months old and still rear facing, she is very comfortable with the extended leg room. She was laughing and playing in the back seat of the car that was totaled in the accident, even though nothing happened. I just added it to my cart and will be buying it again for my new car.
👤I was frustrated with how hard it was to tighten the seatbelt. You need to have the strength of 10,000 people to tighten it. I figured it out. Pull the slack from around the child's hips once the chest clip and belt are buckled. The chest clip and shoulder strap covers should be lowered. The slack is above the chest clip. The strap needs to be tightened. It will be very easy. We shouldn't have to go through this, but once you know how to do it, it's not bad. It is easy to remove the cover, but it is not so easy to put it on. The seat cover is secured with small elastic loops. The loops need to be threaded through small holes to reach the hook. If you don't have a crochet hook, you will throw the seat away. With the crochet hook, I was able to thread the elastic loop through the small holes and over the fastening hooks with very little effort.
👤We don't plan ahead very well. We were worried when our kid was upgraded to a convertible car seat. We weren't sure if we would be able to find a small car that fit my wife's small car. We looked for a budget friendly car seat because we are already spending an arm and leg for diaper changing. We wanted something to keep him calm. We have three digit temperatures where we are located, which means we have something that could fit in a corolla and the passenger didn't have to move their seat to the point where they were kissing the dash. The fact that it grows with the child makes it a better investment than a budget friendly convertible seat. The fabric allows our son to breathe during the hot days. He gets a little sweat on his back but that is normal with all car seats. I know he doesn't mind the seat because he always passes out with each car ride. We were able to keep the front passenger and driver seat in the back of the car. I enjoy any little leg room I can get. This seat is perfect for your child.
It helps to safely transport a big kid from 4 to 10 years old. The minimum weight has been increased from 30 to 40 lbs. For years of use, the 2-in-1 seat easily converts from a highback booster to a backless one. Energy-Absorbing foam is used for impact management. Keep your child content on the road with padded, height-adjustable armrests and hide-away cup holders. The belt guides help position the seat belt. Your child is secured on all of your journeys with a multi-layer headrest. The seat is crash tested to meet or exceed US standards. Check your local and state laws for car seat usage. 👤I just bought a second pair of these carseats. I bought some after someone backed into my car with my old ones. I purchased these for my daughter and son because of the research I did. They hit a COW on the interstate and spun off into a power pole while visiting my in laws in LA. My son hit his arm on the car door, but he and my daughter are both fine. The police, emts and fire fighters all said that my father was uninjured in the situation and these carseats. The officers/fire fighters inspected them before my sister in law picked them up and said they seemed to be undamaged, although they recommended replacing them. You couldn't pay me to put my kids in different booster seats.
👤After reading reviews, I didn't want to buy it. I'm happy that I didn't get persuaded. I realized that some people are not perfect. Reviewers can be wrong. I was impressed with the quality, which is not high end. It's good for the money. It was easy to assemble. Didn't need the instructions at all. My 3yr old was excited when I unboxed it. I have never seen her excited for a carseat. I helped her carry it half way to the car. It was perfect in the backseat. It doesn't have a hook, but it's pretty secure without one. It looked like it came with the car. The interior was matched perfectly. I bought it from the Amazon warehouse. Yep, kid you not. It was mint. It's a brand new thing. I was skeptical at first, but I took a chance and am happy that I did. I would like to thank the guys for reading my review. Be safe.
👤This is a great product. My daughter is now five years old and we purchased it when she was four. She is short and only weighs 36 lbs. There is no way to anchor it, that's the one thing I don't like about it. The seat belt is simply run across. There is no shoulder strap in the back of my dad's Crown Vic. It's easy to put it in any car I want because you can grab it and go. The cup holders are not good for water bottles. They fall out when turning. It's hard to get the seat belt on because we have to put it on the edge of the seat, but that could be our car. A great product is made by Graco.
👤This is a great boost. I have had it for 2.5 years and it is still strong. The weight limit on the LATCH anchor and the booster seat's connections to the LATCH are important things to remember when using five point harness boosters. A five point harness is not as safe as a seat that has strong connections is, because the weakest link in the chain is the seat. The heavier the kid, the stronger the forces will be, which will cause the anchor and anchor connectors to be damaged. It is easy to be fooled by false advertising because it requires some engineering knowledge and common sense. I own a popular five-point booster for my small child. It was advertised as a five-point harness booster for kids up to 100 pounds. I was horrified to discover that it was only rated to be 48 pounds for use with LATCH. I thought my five year old was safer in his sister's seat than he was in his booster, but I was wrong. He might have stayed securely attached to the seat in a crash if he had not been over the weight limit. The seat is not enough to protect your child. The seat needs to be attached to the car. You know your kids. If they are cautious in the car and aware of safety, and don't unbuckle themselves or fiddle with the belts, or otherwise do anything to mess with the belt positioning, this is a great seat for kids within the age, height and weight limits. It is sturdy and doesn't show wear. The covers are dirty. The cupholders are easy to clean. Even after your child grows too tall for the back, it will last and last. The backless booster is done. They are more or less held against the car by a correctly positioned seatbelt in a crash. If you have a child who won't stay in their seat, or unbuckles the seatbelt, then please attach a seat with a five point harness to the car using the seatbelt and not the LATCH.
Your child can grow from a rear-facing harness to a highback booster in a 3-in-1 car seat. The seat is 10% slimmer because of the dual cup holders that rotates away. A combination of the most rigorous crash tests helps to protect your little one in crashes. The harness and headrest can be adjusted in one motion. The safest fit for your child is to choose the perfect height for their headrest. The recline helps for a better installation. Push-button In Right LATCH has an audible click to help ensure secure installation.
👤We were in a car accident at 60mph. A 2 year old child walked away from an accident after biting his tongue. He was thankful for the protection this seat gave him.
👤I've been wanting to get a second car seat for a long time. I went to the local stores to try out the Slim Fit after seeing the price drop. The Slim Fit and the Milestone are both on sale at Walmart for the same price. My primary car seat is a Graco 4Ever. Both the SlimFit and Milestone have the same features. My daughter and I chose Slim Fit because of the two cup holders. The seat is very comfortable. There is a good amount of cushion in the head and butt area. Ours has been in use for several years and feels more comfortable than the 4Ever. The beams are reinforced with steel like the 4Ever, but they are not as thick or wide. The SlimFit is a bit lighter because of this. The in Right latch system is a must have for the Slim Fit. The installation is easy, but the in Right belt is a bit harder to get as snug as I want. That could be because it is brand new. The harness adjusts when you raise and lower it. The seat is a bit larger than the 4Ever. I am testing out the Slim Fit in my Mazda CX-5 and I feel like there is more room for passengers than when I have the 4Ever in the same place. There are only 4 "recline" positions. I would like to see 5. The 4Ever has two recline positions just for forward facing, which is a plus. It's a little more comfortable with the added recline. The SlimFit is definitely comparable to the 4Ever. If you can purchase below retail, I would recommend it. There was a photo added for asthetic comparison.
👤Ok. All of the pictures should be forgiven. Seeing comparison pictures of new car seats helped me make my decision. We are getting a new car seat. I drive a small car, the 2015 crosstrek from the Subaru line. If I could do it all over again, I would buy a minivan that we didn't need and I wouldn't want a teenager sitting in the back for family outings. The seat is a bit slimmer on the slimfit due to the lack of armrest and cup holders. The back and headrest are the same on both seats, but the back of the slimfit is a solid panel as opposed to the extend2fit with an open back. Both of these differences are functional and mearly. The recline option is the same, the padding is the same, and the wonderful sliding headrest to adjust height is the same. The water under the bridge made it difficult for me to get the latch through the rear pass. The seat is heavy and not a good choice if you want to carry your car seat through the airport or move it on a regular basis. I don't like the fact that the infant seat insert is not included, there are a lot of cracks in the fabric and it is hard to get gummy snacks out of it. The seat is sturdy and well built, which is a bonus since I won't need another car seat for the kids down the road. It is nice. Installation was ok. 10/10 would buy again.
You can use 4 in 1 car seat for 10 years if you change from rear facing harness car seat to forward facing harness car seat, high back belt positioning booster, or backless belt positioning booster. The protect Plus helps to protect your little one in crashes. Simply safe adjust harness system adjusts the height of your harness and head rest to 10 positions in one motion to ensure that your child is always secured. Do not bleach. 6 position recline helps keep your child comfortable. The audible click on the In right Latch attachment helps ensure secure installation. Installation of the seat belt is easy with the belt lock off. The rapid remove cover removes in 60 seconds. Mild soap and cool water may be used to clean metal and plastic parts. Mild soap and cool water may be used to clean metal and plastic parts.
👤Please read the manual. The first bad review I saw was of a sleeping baby girl with her neck in a bad position because her parents didn't install it correctly. She is small and should be in the rear facing position with the straps below her shoulders, which would mean the headrest would be lower so she wouldn't be in an awkward position. Also, tighten the straps. The installation is hard at the seatbelts. If your baby is 40 lbs or more, make sure to use the seatbelt and avoid LATCH because my son is close to 40 lbs. If you front face, please choose a position that is easy for my son to fall asleep in. When facing forward, make sure the straps are above the shoulders. The nextfit zip is easy to take off and wash, and it is easier to put a baby in the middle seat. The side protection ofChicco makes it a boat, but it doesn't have the bulkyness of Graco Trueshield. I bought 2 and will update my review as time goes on.
👤The baby is not comfortable to sleep in. I was expecting a good all in one car seat for my baby but this is one of the worst purchases I have ever made. I regret buying it because it might hurt my baby's neck. It is too expensive to just get rid of it.
👤The Bryant style was ordered by me. In all of the photos, it is grey, but it is burgundy. It is grey in a customer question. It is not grey.
👤I'm really upset to write this. I like graco. I would caution you against using this car seat. My son is 4 years old and I have a car seat that is facing the other way. Every time he falls asleep, there is limited neck support and he is in pain the next day. Poor guy! The next thing is the safety lock. If the car seat is rear facing, the latch system can be used. The graco car seat can be front facing. I can use the system. Not using the latch system makes me very nervous. I would caution you on those two things. Both safety and comfort. Hope this helps!
👤She was outgrowing her infant seat when she moved out of her old car seat. It was easy to make the adjustments so she could wear it like a glove. The modifications they made to the DLX version are nice, but not necessary. The center strap/button is in a better place to ensure a snug fit and the cover is easier to remove. If your budget is tight, the non-DLX is equally secure and easy to manipulate, even if you have 2 DLX versions.
👤I bought this two weeks ago. It took me a long time to pick a car seat for my son. I read reviews on different car seats. My husband thought it was crazy to spend that much on a car seat. I really like this car seat, so I'm glad I argued. If it gets dirty, it's easy to remove the padding. Just a few clips and boom it off. You can adjust the harness straps by pushing a button and pulling up. Instead of having to take everything apart and put it back together again. I like the extra padding and the seat positions. It's easy to install but it's difficult to uninstall. Some people were complaining about weird noises, but I haven't heard them. I have noticed a few draw backs to this type of car seat since purchasing it. My son is 5 months old and needs a carrier while we're out. I can't put him in a shopping cart, so I'm looking for a small sling or carrier that I can keep in the car for when we're out. The second con I have noticed with this type of seat is that you can't take these out or they aren't supposed to be, unlike the infant carriers that you can carry with you anywhere. There are restaurants. I don't eat out much. I can't put my baby in a restaurant because the car seat is in the car. I have a carrier so I'm looking for a portable high chair for those situations. I couldn't eat until the family was done. Since he was strapped to my chest, I could eat since he wasn't in a sling.
The 4-in-1 seat has four seats in one, and it can be used for 10 years. Simply Safe adjust harness system will adjust the height of your harness and head rest to 10 positions in one motion to ensure that your child is always secured. Do not bleach. The 10-position headrest is easy to use and grows to fit your child. The 6-position recline helps keep your child comfortable. For an easy installation. 👤I own the 4Ever Extend2fit but needed to upgrade my second child's infant car seat to a convertible one. I didn't need a second E2F as my rear-facing 4 year old was getting ready to transition into forward facing mode. I decided that the Grows4Me would make the most sense for my growing family after doing research on another E2F. The most basic of the 4Ever line is what I received after the G4M. The fabric of my E2F is different from the G4M. Some stitching is different from fabric. The G4M has less newborn inserts. The seat cover for the G4M is held together by a hook and loop setup. The G4M has one cup holder instead of two. It was a great budget buy because of the differences in comfort and safety. The 4Ever line has all the necessities and luxuries for a great price. The best part is that it fit in my car. Take that all you non-believers.
👤My daughter and I were t-boned by a garbage truck 10 days after we installed this car seat. She slept through my injury without a scratch on her head. I can't afford another one. I will be buying again when I can. It is worth every penny. 100 percent!
👤I couldn't use it for my baby so I didn't give a lot of stars. It's not for newborns. He was too small for it. He hasn't been switched to this car seat. He is four months old.
👤It may feel like a chore, but reading the manual will help you get the best fit for your child. I researched a lot to find the right carseat for my daughter. She is over 30 inches tall. Her seat was too tight for her height and she hadn't maxed out her weight capacity. I am a licensed social worker with a specialty in Child Welfare and have used SEVERAL carseats. This was one of the easiest ones I've installed and I found it to be easier to maneuver than her infant carseat was. I have "mother's wrists" as a result of my pregnancy which makes lifting heavy items very difficult for me. It was easy to lift and it did not cause any strain. My daughter's first car ride was in the photo. I noticed that she had more head support from this seat than she would've in her infant car seat, because she fell asleep.
👤The design has many features and is thick. The instructions are easy to understand in the manual. The position of the child on the bottom of the car seat base is correct. Sorry about the background noise in the video.
👤It's a hassle to anchor them to the car with the clips. Getting them on is not too difficult. I was not aware that I was ordering this. The base doesn't come off. I had to be escorted by a nurse to show her the one I had before I left the hospital. Not a fan. I would have paid an extra 100$ for the other version if I had known it would be this bad. There are more heads up! This isn't compatible with any stroller. That's correct, not just. I need to find a Graco. No my parents friends. Any troll. The base did not come off. That means no stroller. Leave the car seat alone. I was going to give it a 3 star. It is.

👤I worked as a child passenger safety technician. I have installed many seats and have training on how to use them. I feel very confident in my ability to review this seat because I am a mom. The pros are 1. It is easy to install in multiple vehicles. I installed it in three and had no issues getting a snug fit or a bad recline. I used the seatbelt and LATCH. There was no leaning even with a locked lap belt, as can be seen with some seats. 2. The base and seat are very light. This makes it easy to maneuver the seat. 3. The seat is very strong. I didn't have to twist or slide it to get it to lock in. It was also easily disengaged. 4. It's a nice size and can weigh 35 lbs. Most babies will be able to use this seat for a long time. 5. It is compatible with strollers. 6. The harness feels secure. It adjusts easily. The cons are 1. There is no padding in this seat. The cover has a small amount, but the baby is sitting on hard plastic. 2. The stitching on the harness material is terrible. It pokes into the baby's legs. 3. The infant insert is useless. The head support piece is not good. It is a big safety issue that people will add after market inserts to the seat. 4. The seat cover is cheap and itchy. The cover is held on small pieces of plastic. I gave the seat four stars. It fits a baby well. It is never safe to install a seat that won't install well. The simple install of this seat would make it very safe and a parent would be more likely to install it correctly. Read the directions. If you think you know what you're doing, do this. My other complaints are related to comfort and appearance. This is not a high end seat, but it will do the job.
👤The seat is great. We upgraded our car seats after someone rear ended our vehicle. I read many reviews for different seats and chose this one. I was so impressed by the lever that makes it easy to install the base firmly in the car. The infant insert is very small. I swapped it out for a convertible seat because I didn't feel like it gave my little one enough support. It is difficult for my hand to squeeze the lever to open the seat. Sometimes the head end will release but the feet end will still be caught. I am 5'3" and am trying to get the seat from the base of the SUV to the back seat. It takes all my strength and I can barely open the door. It might not be an issue if our vehicle was lower to the ground. Someone who doesn't want to shake their baby around while trying to get the seat unlatched from the base is in danger. I am very happy with the quality of the seat.

👤The 4ever xtend2fit was advertised for a black friday sale. My wife and I got one of these for a good price from the babies and we are closing sales. We have a second baby on the way in April and thought we could use one in each car until we need both. The description was read by me. It has a tightlatch system. We have the same thing. The issue is here. I notice different colors and click through. The other "color" options were cheaper. I understand that manufacturers sell less popular colors for less. It happens all the time. If you change the color, you also change the product. The 4ever extend2fit is still said to be. It's not the same as the EZ Tight LATCH system. Their basic one is more difficult to tighten. To take it out. That is a large task. If this doesn't get resolved, I will be returning the product and buying a different brand. I don't like the idea of advertising and changing the product description to make it look different.
👤The car seat has grown with my child over the last 3 years. She is a tall girl and it has fit her perfectly. It is very easy to adjust to her needs and secure her car. I don't mind taking a few extra minutes to install her seat because I know she's safe. The quality and safety features of the car seat make up for the fact that it is a little heavy. Our car was totaled in the accident. The impact was so hard that we spun our car around in a circle and the tail light came out on the other side of my car. Her car door was split in half. My daughter walked away with a bruise on her forehead and a side impact cushion. She has had more injuries than this from falling. Her car seat didn't budge at all. Even though it was a hard impact, it was completely secured. After looking at photos, doctors at the ER were surprised that she had only a bruise. I am so thankful for this seat. We replaced her seat with the same one and didn't think twice.
👤We had this seat for about 8 months and liked the idea of it being a one and done seat. We started potty training. One time the seat was soaked by our daughter. I took the seat out, cleaned it, and put it back in the car. The smell of urine was present in the car about 3 days later. The seat was the source. I took it out again and realized that it was impossible to get to the base because of the urine. I need to either buy a new seat or deal with the smell. It is hard to buy a new seat for the amount we paid, but the smell is overwhelming. If you decide to buy this seat, make sure to put down pee pads during potty training.

👤It was not taken lightly that I had to order 3 of these carseats. We absolutely love them. They fit in the 3rd row of the car. The good is very easy to clean. The only issue is that they are very long and if you are rear facing in the photo it sticks out a lot. These are by far the hardest. I'm not sure if it was because we have so many or so close together, but if it was, uninstall it. If you have 3 under 2 like me, you should buy this carseat because it will fit 3 across and save you time trying to fit 10 other carseats.
👤The car seat is heavy. Installation was easy for a small person like me. However! I had my son in this car seat when we were t-boned. My son was behind me because it was difficult to get him out of the middle seat in a big F-150 after we were hit. I learned something. I had to have emergency surgery for a broken skull, fractured eye sockets, and brain hemorrhage. I have a long recovery ahead of me, but my son died. I think this car seat saved his life. My son came out of the wreck without any injuries. The attending EMTs told me that they were surprised to find us not dead but unharmed. This is a very sturdy car seat that is easy to install. My son is a big boy and has always been comfortable in it. My son spills everything and the cover isn't as easy to clean as I would hope for, so I wish it was made of a stronger fabric. It stands up to a delicate cycle, but some messes require more scrubbing that this cover wouldn't stand up to. I would recommend this seat. The nurses asked about the car seat when they found out my son had been in the wreck, and he was happy and healthy. I told them to use this Diono.
👤The back of the cover is ripped after one wash. How is this product supposed to last? They are waiting to hear if they will replace it.
👤The 4th seat arrived and is not an open box. Don't give up, another open box used seat arrived today. I'll keep coming back until I get a new one from Amazon. I went from four stars to one in a shabby update. My daughter in law just got one of these and wants the same set up as the others, so I bought her a spare. I can see that the seat is in a bashed up box. The packing is retaped and some bits are missing. This is shabby. I didn't buy an open box so I'm sending it back for a replacement. I'm not the only buyer to get a used seat. I bought 3 of these for a 2015 Grand Cherokee, but I wouldn't bother with the middle unless you want to be pushed up against the steering wheel. I'll get another Diono 3R for the middle forward facing position in 18 months. The seats are too tall for rear facing. Everything else is okay with the seats. Excellent build quality.
